IMPORTANT NOTE:

Pre-Season programming has been postponed. It wasn’t the news we were hoping for but with the provincial government announcement on April 1, 2021 Ontario will be entering a shutdown period starting April 3rd, 2021 and lasting 28 days.

We are in contact with the town to have our permit rescheduled for May so we can hit the floor running as soon as the shutdown restrictions have been lifted. Registration will stay open and we will notify families of their team assignment once we know when programming can re-start.

While we are certainly disappointed the silver lining is the weather should be much nicer once we return in May and we may have the option to use fields in addition to the box which means more lacrosse!

Registration for the 2021 pre-season program has opened. Our pre-season co-ed program is open to players and goalies of all ages and skill levels. It will run for the month of April with 1 weekly session starting Tuesday, April 6th and running through Friday, April 30th at the Bowmanville Lacrosse Bowl which is located beside Bowmanville Indoor Soccer at Clarington Fields (2375 Baseline Rd W, Bowmanville, ON L1C 5M2).

The cost of this program is $60/player. Each time slot is limited to 20 participants under the current guidelines of the provincial reopening framework so spots will be limited.

Currently, the Municipality of Clarington is in the RED zone of the provincial reopening framework which does not allow for players who live outside Durham Region Public Health Unit to participate in our programming. While in the red zone sessions are limited to practice, skills and drills. If registration numbers allow we will divide participants into smaller groups and provide skill based instruction.

WHAT DAY WILL MY CHILD PLAY?

We have created a tentative schedule, keep in mind this may change based on registration numbers. As this is an outdoor program we anticipate there might be some cancellations due to weather and we will do our best to rescheduled as soon as possible. Sessions which need to be rescheduled due to weather or holidays will mainly take place on Fridays.

WILL THERE BE REP THIS SEASON?

At the moment we are only taking registrations for our pre-season program which is open to players of all levels. Once the Ontario Lacrosse Association opens regional registration and Ontario Public Health guidelines allows for travel to other centres we will re-visit rep programming. Our hope is to offer rep programming including some game play against other clubs within our public health unit once we move the the orange zone. Current guidelines do not allow for scrimmages and/or game play which we feel is an integral part of rep programming.

This chart shows team/player movement as permitted within the different levels of the provincial framework.
